In the third period of the meeting between the Russian and the striker Trent Frederick, a conflict arose, during which the striker of the capital club hit the opponent with a stick between his legs. Both hockey players received a two-minute penalty. The meeting, which took place in Boston, ended with a score of 2: 1 in favor of Washington.

The winners were Lars Eller and Jakub Vrana. Earlier it was reported that Ovechkin was recognized as the first star of the Boston – Washington match.
